Chlamydia pneumoniae in cfs and fibromyalgia

Chlamydia pneumoniae infecties

Chlamydia Pneumoniae (Cpn) has been implicated in such a wide variety of diseases that information about it's treatment and science is scattered about the web and tends to be focused on just one of these illnesses. We hope to be a central source of information, which will allow us to share findings and compare treatment responses across the variety of problems Cpn causes.

Chlamydia pneumoniae has been proven to be linked to: multiple sclerosis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, cardiac disease, interstitial cystitis, prostatitis, Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, Alzheimer's disease, asthma, arthritis, Fibromyalgia, chronic refractory sinusitis, macular degeneration, and others

The case for Chalamydia pneumoniae in CFS does not prove that Cpn is always the causal element. As a syndrome, CFS may originate from a variety of causal factors, and these could be different for different patients. But in a disease where modern medicine has had no curative treatment to offer, it is clearly a causal factor worth looking into. Even with negative blood tests for Cpn, an empirical trial of the CAP for Cpn is worth exploring.Dr. Stratton was asked to test blood samples submitted by the well-known Chronic Fatigue Syndrome physicians Paul Cheney, MD, Daniel Peterson, MD, and David S. Bell, MD to explore the possible involvement of Cpn in their CFS patients. That the selected patient group of CFS patients had almost 100% positive PCR tests for Cpn (actual proteins, which means actual presence of the bacterial particles - not only an antigen response, which could be a remnant from prior infection) is an extraordinary finding.

Chlamydia pneumoniae

Cpn steals the energy (ATP) of itís host cell to fuel itís own reproduction. This leaves your infected cells with inadequate energy for their own function such as degrading your immune system function leaving you more open to other infections, degrading your liver function leaving you more susceptible to chemicals your liver canít fully process, etc.

A website devoted to the understanding and treatment of Chlamydia Pneumoniae, an infectious bacteria implicated in a number of human illnesses. is a non-commercial, website run and supported by volunteers, and does not take monetary or other assistance from any other sources.

The metabolic syndrome, which occurs very frequently in the general population, has a significant association with prior infection with Chlamydia pneumoniae, Helicobacter pylori, cytomegalovirus and herpes simplex virus type 1. Hypothesis about participation of infection in pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome should be investigated.

Latent chlamydial infections : the probable cause of a wide spectrum of human deseases

Neurological diseases & Chlamydophila pneumoniae

They are commonly called Rickettsia, Mycoplasma, and Chlamydia - and the common hosts are mainly rodents; the vectors are arthropods (insects with jointed legs) or airborne through dust.
